Trip to Democratic Republic of Congo
Pastor Peter Mahoye Shandakwa, one of our senior pastors from Fairfax, IA, fled the Congo for his safety many years ago and came to America where he settled in the Cedar Rapids, IA area and joined his church with Open Bible. The Message magazine featured Pastor Peter’s story several years ago after his wife and children were able to join him in America from a refugee camp. Pastor Peter is one of the humblest men of God I know and has planted a number of churches in and out of the Democratic Republic of Congo – Burundi, Tanzania, Malawi, and Zambia. Vince McCarty, Global Missions Director for Open Bible, and I will be traveling to Congo for a convention and gathering of Pastor Peter’s network of pastors and churches who desire to join Open Bible Churches. We leave on Tuesday, August 15 and return on Thursday, August 24. Please pray for God’s anointing as we minister to this wonderful gathering, as well as for our health and safety.
