LET EVERY HEART PREPARE HIM ROOM…

These are familiar words from the Christmas carol Joy to the World. Jesus is not looking for a manger where He can rest, He is looking for hearts and lives where He can rule and reign. And yet He approaches people by knocking on the door to see who will make room for Him. My heart is drawn to the words of the Apostle Paul in Colossians 1:25-27

God has given me the responsibility of serving his church by proclaiming his entire message to you. This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God’s people. For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.

Our lives are surrendered to the One who came to live in us. Paul also affirmed this in 2 Corinthians 4:7 – We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. Jesus is living in me and He is living in you. That brings us joy, peace, and hope in this season and every day that we live for Him!
