A TALE OF TWO CHURCHES

Myanmar Open Bible Church

Myanmar Open Bible Church began as a home church in October 2009, shortly after Pastor Joneshar Khong and his family arrived in Des Moines, IA. In October 2010, Pastor Mike Rasavanh invited this home church to begin using Lifesong Open Bible Church’s facility. In 2011, they began the affiliation process with Open Bible Churches and the affiliation was completed in 2012. In the years since, they have rented facilities from three of our Des Moines area churches- Lifesong Open Bible Church, Community Chapel, and most recently, First Church of the Open Bible. In late January 2024, our Casa De Oracion Y Restauracion Church closed and we were able to transition the property to our Myanmar Church May 1, 2024. Congratulations!  More people have joined since they moved to their new facility on the south side of Des Moines.

Vision Open Bible Church

Pastor Paul and Pam Stampp relocated their family from Jamaica to Arlington, TX. On September 12, 2004, they launched Vision Open Bible Church in Mansfield, TX. It was challenging to find affordable places to rent, but they rented many spaces over the years. Their lease came due for renewal during the COVID pandemic and they decided to let their lease go and meet online, which allowed them to put most of their tithes and offerings into their building fund. They have looked at several properties over the last few years. On April 29, 2024, they purchased 3.2 acres in Mansfield, TX, the city where their church plant began in 2004. The church is now raising $100,000 for the required parking lot before they move into the facility. Through all the obstacles, hurdles, and uncertainties the Lord has provided in His time and place. To God be all the glory, praise and gratitude!
