United: Together for the Kingdom

Theme Verse: “That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” John 17:21

As leaders in Kids, Youth, and Young adult ministries– we are called to partnership with one another in Christ! The word, “United” stresses the importance of coming together, setting aside differences, and serving with one goal— to reflect the very nature of Christ, to all who we minister with!

This concept of “United” is not just for our benefit; it is truly in the best interest of all those around us.  As we move forward together for the Kingdom, our lives become an even better living example of Christ’s love, power, and His plan to reach the Next Generation!

This retreat is meant to be an opportunity to come together, encourage one another, and embrace the truth that we are all part of one body, called to one purpose — advancing God’s Kingdom through truth, unity, encouragement, and hope!

We can’t wait for this retreat! Our time together is meant to be one of rejuvenation, restfulness, and recognition of the great work that you do. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus to the Kids, Youth, and Young Adults of Central Region.

Special Speakers: Bruce and Robin Pfadenhauer– Open Bible Central, Des Moines, IA

Trevor is the Associate Pastor at Journey Church in Loves Park, IL, where he leads the young adult ministry and discipleship for the church. He has been pastoring for 12 years; in a variety of ministries including youth, young adult, small groups, and worship. Trevor attended both New Hope Christian College and Wheaton Graduate School, where he focused on Ministry Leadership and Discipleship. Trevor and his wife Erin have been married for 17 years and have two kids. When he has free time you can find Trevor enjoying fantasy stories, playing a game, pickleball, or practicing music.

Hi! I’m Abby Cole, and I’ve had the joy of serving as the Kids Pastor at Experience Church in Des Moines since 2011. I’m married to my best friend, Matthew, and we have four amazing kids—Chloe, Olivia, Ellie, and our son, little Matthew—who keep life loud and full of joy. I’m passionate about creating fun and relevant spaces where kids can learn about Jesus and make Him their personal Savior. Most days you can find me learning actions to worship songs, prepping curriculum, planning VBS, texting volunteers, and—of course—fixing the check-in printer!
