THANKSGIVING
This week in our staff meeting we read 1 Corinthians 1:4-9. Paul was expressing his personal thanks to God in this letter to the Christ-followers at Corinth. We took a deeper look at verse 5 which says “God has enriched your church in every way”. I want to broaden this verse as a phrase over EVERY church in Central Region – God has enriched our churches in every way!
The word enriched is the Greek word ploutizo and where we get our English word plutocrat, which is someone who is so wealthy that they cannot give a definitive number on their wealth because it is accruing so rapidly. Paul is saying that your church is enriched! And let me share some examples:
- We have access to the blood of Jesus for complete cleansing from sin!
- We have access as believers to the throne room of heaven for intercession!
- We have access to our Father’s provision since he owns the silver and gold!
The list goes on and on. Who can actually calculate the marvelous riches we have in Christ Jesus? Don’t let your current challenges cause you to forget. You are richer than you know! You are ENRICHED in Christ!
